Australian Border Force from 20 March 2020, has put in place the inward travel restrictions prohibiting travel into Australia of all foreign nationals. The purpose of the restrictions are to restrict the spread of COVID-19. However, travel exemptions to leave and enter Australia are constantly being reviewed by the Australian Government. Below are the latest changes

Travel exemptions for Prospective Marriage Visa (subclass 300) holders
The Minister for Home Affairs, Karen Andrew has announced that Prospective Marriage Visa holder who are residing overseas can now apply for travel exemption to fly into Australia. However, they need to meet following requirement
- You must hold the Prospective Marriage (subclass 300) visa; and
- Your visa application was lodged at least 12 months before submitting a travel exemption request.
This means if you applied for a subclass 300 visa on or before 18 August 2020, and you have now been granted your subclass 300 visa; you are eligible for an inwards travel exemption on 18 August 2021.
It is, however, the discretion of Australian Border force to grant or refuse the travel exemption so it is advisable to provide sufficient evidence.
